Cooper Levenson is pleased to announce that James J. Quinlan has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Mr. Quinlan, based in the firm’s Atlantic City office, is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Business Law Practice Groups.
“We are excited to welcome Jim, an accomplished legal executive with nearly 20 years’ experience in corporate law, contract negotiations, risk and crisis management, litigation, and compliance. We are very happy to have him on our team,” said Kenneth J. Calemmo, Jr., Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Quinlan earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia. He completed his B.A. in Political Science and Criminal Justice, with Honors, at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. During law school, Mr. Quinlan was selected to take part in an exchange between Temple Law and University College Cork’s Law Department, Ireland. There, he studied International, European Union, and Irish law. Mr. Quinlan is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Quinlan is also presently serving as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel to a large-volume valet and transportation management corporation.
Previously, Mr. Quinlan served as Chief Legal Officer at a social media detection and monitoring software company, where he provided strategic counsel on all legal and governance matters including data and privacy law concerns, while managing the HR and risk departments along with the companies’ domestic and foreign subsidiaries. Prior to that in-house role, Mr. Quinlan was a Partner and trial attorney with a national law firm, where he concentrated his practice on complex commercial and catastrophic tort cases with a focus on product liability, aviation and maritime matters.
Mr. Quinlan has represented and advised a diverse client base including Fortune 50 International companies, NPOs, and medium and small businesses in a wide variety of industries.
Mr. Quinlan started his legal career in Atlantic County as a law clerk to the Honorable Daryl F. Todd, Sr., J.S.C. for the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Quinlan was named to the Legal Intelligencer’s 2018 Top Lawyers 40 Under 40 list. Outside of his practice, Mr. Quinlan has served leading organizations through director and officer level positions on boards of multiple local, regional, and national non-profit organizations. He serves on the School Board for the City of Ventnor.
