When this firm was founded in 1957, it was with a deep sense of commitment to the community. Our attorneys and staff are always encouraged to seek ways in which they can make a difference, either individually or partnering with others.
The scope and specifics of our involvement range from taking leadership roles at the national level, to volunteering in civic and neighborhood settings, to funding scholarships for aspiring students, to working in soup kitchens and more. We invite you to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and X to read more about our extensive community service efforts.
Cooper Levenson provides our business and individual clients with an uncompromising commitment to exceptional legal services and a “client first” focus that has contributed to our success since 1957. The firm has experienced extensive growth and change over the last 65+ years, but the cornerstones of our firm’s foundation remain the same.
When Jim Cooper founded this firm more than 65 years ago, his love for the law was matched by a deep sense of commitment to the community. With little fanfare but great effectiveness, he spent his life investing his personal and professional resources in ways that have changed lives – and, by his example, inspired others to do the same.
At Cooper Levenson, we believe our future rests in our collective ability to embrace change and encourage diversity through our leadership, employment, and continued community support.
Cooper Levenson offers paid summer associate positions to qualified law students who have completed their second year (day) or third year (evening) of law school. The program is eight weeks in our Atlantic City office.
Strong academic record and writing skills are required, and we will also consider extracurricular activities and community involvement in our hiring decision. Summer Associates receive assignments in as may practice areas as there is need, with the goal of providing a well-rounded experience. Our office is across the street from the Atlantic County Civil Courthouse, which provides opportunities to observe our attorneys as they appear in court. In addition, our Summer Associates have the opportunity to meet the attorneys who work in each practice group during weekly lunches, which allows a more in-depth discussion about each practice area.
Networking is important for attorneys, and we include Summer Associates in social events that take place in and around Atlantic City. Summering in Atlantic City has many perks: the beach and the boardwalk are steps away from the office, as are the casinos, restaurants, and other attractions that draw millions of people to Atlantic City each year to visit. However, Atlantic City is more than a tourist destination.
Working in this diverse city provides the Summer Associates insight into all that Atlantic City has to offer year round. To apply please submit a cover letter, resume, transcript, and writing sample to Jennifer Barr, Esq. at jbarr@cooperlevenson.com.
